PICTURE YOURSELF ON A PRIVATE ISLAND, lost in the Caribbean and forgotten by the world. No modern conveniences, no schedules, no problems. It sounds like a fantasy, but you can experience it yourself on Long Caye at Glover’s Reef, our adventure island retreat in Belize.
Each day we introduce a new sport. We begin by paddling to magical snorkeling spots. Another day finds us in surf kayaks shredding the waves just off our shore, or scuba diving the underwater “Wall”. At night we enjoy home-cooked meals featuring Belizean seafood.
Slickrock spares no effort to ensure that our tour is the best adventure sports trip in the entire Caribbean. In addition to the luxury of a secluded, private island, our gear is top-notch: we have surfboards, a fleet of 40+ sea kayaks, fishing and surf kayaks, paddleboards, and windsurfing gear for all ability levels. Our kitesurf school offers professional instruction and diving is also available just down the beach for certified divers and beginners.
Belize is famous for its reefs, and Glover’s Reef is considered the most pristine in the country. The atoll has been designated a National Marine Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site to protect it for future generations. Our Water Sports Center on Long Caye sits amidst this paradise, offering a backdrop few locations can match. We are the only adventure operation in Belize with a private island!
Our guides are among the most experienced professionals in the business. Our facilities are rustic, private, and comfortable; featuring thatch-roofed cabanas perched right on shore. We have a rainwater collection system for drinking water, unlimited showers pumped by the sun (air temperature), and ecologically-friendly composting toilets. Our menu consistently receives rave reviews, and cold beer and soda are included in the trip price. Our boat leaves right out of Belize City for our guests’ convenience.
Let us help you plan additional days, we are always happy to provide advice. We have specialized in adventure travel since 1977, and this is our 27th year sharing the magic of Belize.

Another beautiful day on Long Caye
"This is the best trip my husband and I have ever been on. The information received prior to the trip described exactly what to except and there were absolutely no surprises….Good job on the write up of all the activities and preparation to take for the trip. We loved the beauty of the island and the comfortable atmosphere. But what I found to be extraordinary were the 14 other guests on the island with us. The combination of all three made the trip unforgettable."

Paddleboarding off Long Caye
"I liked day one in the jungle best – hike to caves and ride on top kayaks on Mopan River. It was a great combination of learning the history of the caves and the thrill of kayaking on the river in this amazing and beautiful setting.
On the Island, I really loved the opportunity to make a choice about my activity each morning after breakfast and then after lunch. Then the staff would look at the numbers and assign the number of staff needed to supervise/support. The flexibility was phenomenal."
