Getting Here

Traveling to Glover’s Reef Atoll

Belize City International Airport is a short, non-stop flight away from many cities in the United States, Canada, and Central America. See more information HERE.

First, you will fly into Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (PGIA) in Belize City, which provides excellent signage to help travelers get through customs and transfer to the in-country flight. You must arrive at PGIA by 3:45pm to catch your commuter flight and make it to orientation on time. Catch a connecting flight to Dangriga Airport with Maya Island Air. You will meet your guide at Pelican Beach Resort by 5pm on Saturday for 6:30pm orientation, dinner, and lodging. Attendance this evening is required, so please ensure your flights allow you to arrive on time.

The following morning, you will leave Pelican Beach Resort after breakfast on the included 36-mile boat ride to Long Caye. Depending on the weather, it takes about 1.5 hours to get to Long Caye on Glover’s Reef Atoll, crossing the Belize Barrier Reef just south of Tobacco Caye. These first two days are crucial as the boat does not wait for late arrivals. Please visit the FAQ page for information on chartering your own boat in the case of missed flights.
